We are\u00a0really looking forward to\u00a0meeting you!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>MOSAIC &#8211; THE ABC: Focus on Andamenti &amp; Tools<\/h4>\n<h5>31.8. \u2013 4.9.2015, 40 hours, Monday \u2013 Friday, 9am \u2013 18pm<\/h5>\n<p>ANDAMENTI. The decomposition of the original\u00a0motif\u00a0into its guidelines. The <em>andamenti<\/em>\u00a0are the heartbeat of each mosaic, its rhythm, the essential first step in planning a new project. They are very different for each style, follow precise, proven rules that are\u00a0fundamental for a harmonious overall expression of the work. Through them, we create volume, perspective, movement or even the very personal touch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What distinguishes the various <em>andamento<\/em> styles \u2013 Roman, Byzantine, classic and modern?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>How can I use them to achieve different\u00a0effects for my mosaic?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>How do I determine the size and shape of the <em>tesserae<\/em> and why?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>What role do the joints play?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will find answers to those questions\u00a0guiding you through\u00a0an illustrated theoretical part and associated practical exercises in drawing and placing in direct technique. Through\u00a0valuable exercises with\u00a0hammer and hardie\u00a0and different materials, we show you how unexpectedly precise a variety of shapes can be made\u00a0with this\u00a0coarse-looking tool.<\/p>\n<p>In the practical part, you\u00a0have the opportunity to choose a particular <em>andamento<\/em> style\u00a0and implement\u00a0a\u00a0work\u00a0in 30 x\u00a030 cm with the material of your\u00a0choice. You can\u00a0choose from\u00a0marble, smalts, industrial glass, ceramics and other materials from our fundus or just bring what\u00a0you have at home.\u00a0We will provide different designs.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>MOSAIC &#8211; THE GRAMMAR: Focus on Color &amp; Material<\/h4>\n<h5>7.9. \u2013 11.9.2015, 40 hours, Monday \u2013 Friday, 9am \u2013 18pm<\/h5>\n<p>In this class, we learn more on what makes a mosaic so interesting and unique: the combination of different materials and the mixing of colours.<\/p>\n<p>In the first theoretical part, we show you how to successfully mix colours and materials and explain diff<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">erent ways of additive and subtractive colour mixing. An excursion covers the rules in the compilation of skin colours in mosaic portrait making.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>How do I set a colour scale for my project?<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>How do I combine warm and cold colours?<br \/>\nHow can I influence the colour of one material with another?<br \/>\nWhat influence does the choice of a particular material and its properties have on the rest of my work?<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>How can I best use the material I have for my project?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will find answers to those questions in the practical part of this workshop,\u00a0creating\u00a0a series of 3 mosaics in the format 15 x 15 cm, in which you interpret a subject of your choice through the use of different colors and \/ or materials. This could be\u00a0a detail of a portrait,\u00a0the structure of a leaf or another detail. We will provide different designs.<\/p>\n<p>In this workshop, we\u00a0work with hammer and hardie, the traditional mosaic tool, in direct technique and contemporary style. Choose from different materials like\u00a0marble,\u00a0smalts, ceramics\u00a0and others from our fundus or just bring your own!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>THE TEACHERS<\/h4>\n[ezcol_1quarter]<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9816\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mused-mosaik.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/minola.jpg\" alt=\"minola\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>[\/ezcol_1quarter] [ezcol_3quarter_end]<strong>Ruth Minola Scheibler (1980)<\/strong>:\u00a02003 Master degree at <em>Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli<\/em> in Spilimbergo, Italy. Since 2004 she is working internationally as a freelance professional, artist and teacher. She has contributed to the restoration of important mosaics and is a founding member of the collective <em>MOSAIZM<\/em>. She has always put \u00a0special attention on experimental work and her personal artistic development.[\/ezcol_3quarter_end]<div class=\"sc-separator type-space\"><\/div>\n[ezcol_1quarter]<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-9732 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mused-mosaik.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/miriam_bastisch-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"miriam_bastisch\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>[\/ezcol_1quarter] [ezcol_3quarter_end]<strong>Miriam Bastisch (1982):<\/strong>\u00a0M.A. in Media and Cultural Studies, student in the second year of training at the <em>Scuola Mosaicisti del Friuli<\/em>\u00a0in Spilimbergo, Italy. With her trilingual blog mused-mosaik.de, since 2012, she gives practical information on mosaic techniques, presents interviews with prominent and emerging\u00a0artists\u00a0from the international mosaic scene and gives insights into the work of mosaic artists. First cooperation and teaching activities with <em>Babylon Mosaic<\/em> in France and <em>Z\u00e4ch Mosaike<\/em> in Berlin.\u00a0[\/ezcol_3quarter_end]\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>THE DETAILS<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Costs per workshop:<\/strong> 590 Euros including documentation, material and tools.
