Hikers who are traveling on the forest crossroads Urschlau in Chiemgau since then can meet Jesus. In a figurative sense, anyway. In a clearing in the woods a mosaic shows a resurrection scene.

The group around Ruth Minola Scheibler and Matko Kezele has implemented the traditional religious motive in a contemporary way. While the figure of Jesus is made of polygonal parts, the background is composed of round stones. 4 meters in diameter, the mosaic was prepared in indirect technique and was devided into 104 pieces before being placed in a 4 cm thick mortar bed. The artwork is part of the “Kulturprojekt Andreas Schwarzkopf”. Originally from the region, the sculptor has created 13 bronze reliefs, which will also be mounted on the trail.

The client was the local group Chiemgauer Alpen e.V.
