{"id":12380,"date":"2015-07-16T19:57:56","date_gmt":"2015-07-16T17:57:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.mused-mosaik.de\/?p=12380"},"modified":"2016-06-10T22:11:58","modified_gmt":"2016-06-10T20:11:58","slug":"at-sea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mused-mosaik.de\/en\/at-sea\/","title":{"rendered":"At sea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What could be more beautiful for a <em>mosaicista<\/em>\u00a0in the summer than working on a mosaic made of blues and greens that form a foaming sea and wild waves with beautiful white spray?<\/p>\n<p>I am helping Emilie Baudrais again, in her studio <em>Babylon Mosaic<\/em>, this time with her commission\u00a0of 12 mosaics for a church in Sardinia. My first theme from the Old Testament: Moses, who splits the sea, to bring the Israelites out of the hands of the Egyptians.<\/p>\n<p>All the designs for the mosaics were made by Emilie.\u00a0As\u00a0they are floor mosaics but we are working in direct technique, it requires\u00a0high precision. We cut\u00a0the pre-divided cubes and place them so that we form a flat surface that doesn&#8217;t have to be ground\u00a0afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>I love to work on this mosaic.
