He abandoned painting as a young aspiring artist because he felt to repeat himself. In the mosaic he found his new old ally. It helped him to find the conjugation between intellect and sentiment. And today, the mosaic has become his way of thinking.

After completing his studies in 1975, De Luca collaborates with the Laboratory The Mosaic Carlo Signorini. He also receives several requests for the restoration of the cultural heritage of Ravenna and Bari in 1996 and participates in the restoration of the Byzantine mosaics “Tappetti di Pietra” in Ravenna. At the Institute of Mosaic Art, where he studied, De Luca taught for nearly 25 years until 2002. Since the mid-70s he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including Paris, Venice and Moscow.
